RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS

The minutes of the special meeting held March 11, 2010.

PRESENT WERE TRUSTEES LOUIS AMICANGELO, DANIEL HODGE, AND KEVIN GRAY AND FISCAL OFFICER VALORIE LEWIS.  ALSO PRESENT WERE:

Mr. Daniel Hodge called the meeting to order at 8:30 p.m.

The minutes of the March 4, 2010 meeting were approved on a motion by Mr. Louis Amicangelo and seconded by Mr. Kevin Gray with Mr. Daniel Hodge concurring.

The Board discussed the ordering of stone for chip and sealing this season.  After discussion a motion to order 1000 ton of #67 stone after verifying with Mr. Blake Meier this is the type of stone used last year was made by Mr. Kevin Gray and seconded by Mr. Daniel Hodge with Mr. Louis Amicangelo concurring.

The Board discussed the dump truck chassis specs that Mr. Daniel Hodge had presented at the March 4, 2010 meeting.  Mr. Louis Amicangelo stated that he had reviewed the specs and would like to wait until a later date because he feels he is being pushed into a particular truck.  He further stated that he had checked into the changes in the 2010 engines and he feels that will not necessarily be a bad change.  Mr. Amicangelo stated he would like to get at least one more winter out of our old truck.  Mr. Daniel Hodge informed the Board that the trade in value for the 2000 truck was $14,000.00 to $16,000.00 and if the spreader box and plow hitch stayed with the truck it could be up to $5,000.00 more.  Mr. Kevin Gray stated that he felt our trucks have been taken care of very well and at this time we are limited to only the International to say with a 2009 engine.  Mr. Gray further stated he is not necessarily ready to make a purchase at this time.

Mr. Daniel Hodge informed the Board that the 2002 truck has three leaf springs broken and they would need to be replaced at Okeys.  Mr. Daniel Hodge informed the Board that on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, he had met with the Gledhill representative, Mr. Ted Tabott, about our trucks’ snow plowing issues.  Mr. Hodge further informed the Board that he was told the 2000 truck’s plow hitch appears to be wore and causing side drift.  And that the 2002 truck has trouble with bent and stuck windshield wipers.  Mr. Daniel Hodge stated that a suggested solution was to add a rubber deflector onto the mouse ear of the snowplow.

No action was taken on the purchase of a new chassis.

The next regular meeting will be Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 8:00 PM at the East Union Township Fire Station.
